Tech Talent Pipeline

About
Launched by Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2014, the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline is the City’s tech Industry Partnership, designed to support the inclusive growth of the NYC tech sector by delivering quality jobs for New Yorkers and qualified talent for the City’s businesses.
CUNY 2x Tech was launched in 2017 as part of the city of New York’s Mayor Bill de Blasio’s New York Works plan. The initiative aims to double the number of graduates with tech bachelor’s degrees from CUNY Colleges, and better align tech education with industry needs.
CUNY 2x and TTP benefits and advantages are available to Computer Science students.
Benefits include:
- Tech Specific Advising via TTPR Industry Specialist
- Web development bootcamp for Internships via TTP Residency
- Hands On tech internship experiences via the TTP Residency
- Ongoing career support prior, and post-graduation
- Connection to employment
Eligibility Requirements
A TTPR participant has to:
- Complete an online Application Form,
- Be 18+ years of age,
- Be a New York resident,
- Be legally authorized to work in the united states,
- Meet federal selective service requirements, if required by law,
- Be a computer science-related major at LaGuardia,
- Be interested in a career in tech,
- Be in a good academic standing,
- Successfully complete either mac101 or mac108 (or both),
- Be available for all TTPR activities (e.g., bootcamp meetings, prof development workshops, tech interview sessions, summer experience, etc.)
Program Timeline
- Professional Development Workshops: April-May 2025
- Technical Bootcamp: March – May 2025
- Tech Interview Training: April – May 2025
- Speed Interview Event: May 2025
- Support with Paid Software Engineering Experience: 6/15 – 8/30
- Job Search + Support: Starting from 9/1
